The Council for Youth Development recognizes the diverse talents of young adults living in Bartholomew County. We believe providing opportunities for local youth to join our efforts enriches their lives and improves the well-being of others.

Kate Stewart | summer 2019
Kate is a Columbus North alumni studying Public Relations at Indiana University. During the school year, she worked on CYD newsletters and designed handouts for the 2018 Youth Empowerment Summit. This summer Kate will be working on the Shine On Postcard Campaign and conducting interviews and focus groups for United Way of Bartholomew County.
Kyle Kingen | SUMMER 2018
Kyle is a Columbus North alumni currently studying Art History at Herron School of Art and Design in Indianapolis. He has been working on planning the Aspire Youth symposium event in partnership with Exhibit Columbus. Previously, Kyle was involved with the Exhibit Columbus High School Design Team which designed Between the Threads.
Shafer Hess | SUMMER 2017
Shafer is a CSA New Tech alumni currently studying Computer Science at Purdue University. He has been instrumental in the design and implementation of the CYD Systems Mapping Project and continues to play a key role in the development of the CYD website. Starting this fall, Shafer will begin work on the Community Dashboard Project with Bartholomew County coalition leaders.
