Youth Suicide

Fourteen Bartholomew County residents lost their lives to suicide in 2017. Of those 14 individuals, the total number of youth suicides (between the ages of 16 to 18) recorded was one. We believe this is one too many and we know suicide affects the entire household. Important for our work ahead is also recognizing over half (57%) of the year’s suicides were between the ages of 32 and 47 impacting many local families.
