CYD youth ambassador program

CYD’S YOUTH AMBASSADOR PROGRAM AIMS TO EMPOWER YOUTH TO THRIVE IN ADULTHOOD BY DEVELOPING THEIR UNIQUE TALENTS, CULTIVATING HEALTHY BEHAVIORS AND RELATIONSHIPS, AND ACTIVELY PARTICIPATING IN COMMUNITY PROJECTS THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

Youth Ambassadors (YA) are Bartholomew County high school students in grades 10-12 committed to meaningful civic engagement and personal growth. YAs serve through youth-driven outreach initiatives while strengthening their leadership skills and focusing on equity in their communities.

NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS for 2024-2025 ya cohort

applications will be accepted through Friday, May 3rd.

If we wish to move forward with your application, we may reach out to schedule a short 15-minute interview to ask additional questions.

If selected to be a Youth Ambassador,
you will be notified by Friday, May 10th.

A Bartholomew County High School Student
Enrolled in 10-12 grade
Able to balance weekly activities and/or meetings with personal/school schedule
A leader among peers (quietly or noticeably)
Open to diversity
Empathetic to others
Excited about change
Unstoppable with supportive adults and peers

A Youth Ambassador Will…

Develop a clear and positive sense of self by learning about who they are, their strengths, their aspirations, and their sense of purpose.

Strengthen skills in the areas of problem-solving, decision-making, and goal-setting to prepare them for future roles and relationships.
Connect to others through supportive relationships within their communities to build resilience, foster overall well-being, and encourage greater civic engagement.

A YOUTH AMBASSADOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR…

Attending 75% of the weekly activities and/or meetings over the course of a year
- Completing 20+ hours of community service (individual and/or group)
- Planning & Participating:
  - Annual YA Retreat
  - International Youth Day
  - Spark Spirit Week
  - Youth Empowerment Summit
  - Global Youth Service Day
